SKETCH OF THE DAY: CREATION VS CONSUMPTION

I've been feeling particularly uncreative lately. More TV than is good for me. More time reading, which IS good for me, but not as good as writing and drawing. I'm consuming more than I'm putting back into the world. It's a cycle I've repeated before and will again. Ebb and flow. But it does have me thinking about the world around me.

I always feel better when I'm putting more into the the world than I'm taking in. And I wonder if that may be the key to living a "good" life. Putting back more than you take. Putting back can have many forms. For some, it's creating works of art that enrich the lives of others. Or teaching and feeding the minds which will shape the world. Growing food to nourish the rest of us, protecting the environment, animals, or natural resources. I don't really know. But I do know that my personal scales are tipped too far in the wrong direction at the moment.
